A few words about me

French-born and now based in Newcastle, I create instinctive abstract work grounded in a deep connection to nature. With a background in graphic design and a long-standing love for texture, I explore the raw, the quiet, and the imperfect through mixed media. My practice is a space for experimentation, reflection and transformation; where intuition leads and materials speak.

Marks tell stories of time, place and feeling. I follow their lead.

Influences

My visual sensitivity has been shaped by artists like Egon Schiele, William Eggleston and William Turner. Each from different eras and mediums, yet all deeply engaged in portraying life with honesty and intensity. Schiele’s work fascinates me for its emotional rawness and unfiltered presence. Eggleston’s photographs reveal how beauty can be found in the everyday, through colour and composition alone. And Turner, he was the first artist who truly mesmerised me. I was around eleven when I saw Rain, Steam and Speed, and I remember being struck by how his near-abstract technique could carry such emotion. He showed me that you can paint real life and still leave space for feeling, atmosphere, and ambiguity.

Inspirations

The textures, rhythms and organic forms of the natural world are constant sources of inspiration. I’m drawn to what’s weathered, wild or quietly alive, sand formations, peeling bark, shifting skies. It’s the grain, the cracks, the subtle signs of time that speak to me. My process is guided by intuition, shaped by stillness and emotional memory. I often work with natural pigments, plaster, sand and recycled materials, allowing the tactile qualities to emerge naturally and tell their own story.

My Work

Each piece is an exploration of fleeting moments and subtle shifts. I work with layered textures and earthy tones to create abstract compositions that invite a sense of calm and presence. Using wood panels or recycled surfaces, I embrace imperfections and accidents as part of the story. My work invites you to slow down, feel and reconnect with the raw beauty that surrounds us.
